چکیده

Abstract Background Wheat stripe rust (caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. Tritici ), is a major disease that causes huge yield damage. New pathogen races appeared in the last few years and caused broke down resistant genotypes. In Egypt, some of genotypes began to be susceptible recent years. This situation increases need produce new with durable resistance. Besides, looking for source from available wheat all over world help enhancing breeding programs. Results study, set 103-spring different fourteen countries were evaluated their field two These included 17 Egyptian old cultivars. The reported well adapted environmental conditions. Out tested genotypes, eight four found both Genotyping was carried out using genotyping-by-sequencing 26,703 SNPs used genome-wide association study. Five SNP markers, located on chromosomes 2A 4A, significantly associated resistance Three gene models underlying these significant identified. One immune Iranian genotype, highest number alleles most detected. Conclusion high variation among race confirming possible improvement identified five markers are stable could marker-assisted selection after validation genetic backgrounds. Crossing between genotype will improve Egypt.

Novel Sources of Stripe Rust Resistance Identified by Genome-Wide Association Mapping in Ethiopian Durum Wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum)

Stripe rust of wheat, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), is a global concern for wheat production, and has been increasingly destructive in Ethiopia, as well as in the United States and in many other countries. As Ethiopia has a long history of stripe rust epidemics, its native wheat germplasm harbors potentially valuable resistance loci. Moreover, the Ethiopian germplasm has ...

TaARPC3, Contributes to Wheat Resistance against the Stripe Rust Fungus

The actin cytoskeleton participates in numerous cellular processes, including less-characterized processes, such as nuclear organization, chromatin remodeling, transcription, and signal transduction. As a key regulator of actin cytoskeletal dynamics, the actin related protein 2/3 complex (Arp2/3 complex) controls multiple developmental processes in a variety of tissues and cell types. To date, ...

Identification of Promising Mutants Associated with Egg Production Traits Revealed by Genome-Wide Association Study

Egg number (EN), egg laying rate (LR) and age at first egg (AFE) are important production traits related to egg production in poultry industry. To better understand the knowledge of genetic architecture of dynamic EN during the whole laying cycle and provide the precise positions of associated variants for EN, LR and AFE, laying records from 21 to 72 weeks of age were collected individually for...

Genome-Wide Association Identifies Multiple Genomic Regions Associated with Susceptibility to and Control of Ovine Lentivirus

BACKGROUND Like human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), ovine lentivirus (OvLV) is macrophage-tropic and causes lifelong infection. OvLV infects one quarter of U.S. sheep and induces pneumonia and body condition wasting. There is no vaccine to prevent OvLV infection and no cost-effective treatment for infected animals. However, breed differences in prevalence and proviral concentration have indicat...

Genome-Wide Association Mapping for Resistance to Leaf and Stripe Rust in Winter-Habit Hexaploid Wheat Landraces

Leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina (Pt), and stripe rust, caused by P. striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), are destructive foliar diseases of wheat worldwide. Breeding for disease resistance is the preferred strategy of managing both diseases. The continued emergence of new races of Pt and Pst requires a constant search for new sources of resistance. Here we report a genome-wide association ...
